Free car check widget for your website

A registration box that runs a free UK car check (MOT history, mileage, tax and DVLA details) from your own pages. One line of code, no sign-up, free for any website.

Who it's for: car dealers, motoring forums and blogs, garages, car clubs, importers' guides and anyone who writes about buying a used car. Your visitors get the free car check without leaving your page until they press Check; the result opens on CarCheckUp in a new tab.

1. The check box (one line of code)

Paste this where the box should appear. It needs no account, no key and no cookies on your site.

Options, as attributes on the div: data-title="Check this car's history" changes the heading; data-theme="dark" gives a dark box; data-ref="your-site" labels the checks that come from you.

2. Without JavaScript (plain HTML)

For platforms that strip scripts (many dealer website builders and forum signatures), a plain form does the same job:

3. "Checked with CarCheckUp" badge

Selling a car you've checked? Put the badge on the listing or your dealer page and link it to the sample report, so buyers see what was checked.

Terms

  • Free for any website. Keep the "by CarCheckUp" link in the box and the badge's link: that is the whole deal.
  • Don't present the free check as your own service or change what it says it checks.
  • The free check runs on CarCheckUp's DVLA, DVSA and MOT data; the full history report (finance, write-off, stolen marker, 150+ data points) is a paid report there.
